Would anyone have any ideas for a beginner like me to look for solutions? I am sure the "no." above comes from the fact that I am situated in Oslo. Then, after running the Software Updater again, it got stuck on "Downloading from /ubuntu no./ubuntu" I tried stopping packagekitd with the following command: systemctl stop packagekit When using the Software Updater, it gets stuck stating "Waiting for Opening the Ubuntu Software application prompts it becomes stuck while saying "Software catalog is being downloaded". With the fresh-install, two issues have arisen. Yet without Wifi connection the installer went on just fine. I performed the installation without Wifi connection, as this lead to the installer becoming unresponsive.
